Students and volunteers from New Acropolis in Palmas (TO) mobilized the collection of philosophy books for donation to the women’s prison in the city of Miranorte (TO).

The initiative, which took place in February, represented a moment of great significance for the inmates, as it encouraged reading, education and culture.

We believe that philosophy can help people connect with their essence and with universal values such as solidarity, respect and compassion”, said the coordinator of Social Assistance at New Acropolis de Palmas, Niceia Marques.

The organization has carried out several solidarity actions and social projects in different regions of the state of Tocantins, seeking to make contact with the timeless ideas present in Philosophy accessible.
