Art Day. Poetry and Dance ( Almeria, Spain)

Artistic Activities

On the occasion of Art Day, a poetry and dance recital took place at the New Acropolis in Almeria. The event was organised by the Tristan Arts Institute. The activity was led by the muses.

Día del Arte. Erato

Erato

The narrator was Sebastián Pérez, who read part of the article Erato, the muse of lyric poetry, by Delia Steinberg Guzmán. He explained the deeper meaning of what followed. Erato sings of a Sublime Love, which completely escapes our time and space. Its existence is an imperious necessity for man. Man needs Art in order to live.

Día del Arte. Poesía y Danza

Carmen Sagredo would begin the recital proper with the poem La Armonía, by Jesús María Bustelo Acevedo. That Harmony which is a unique aspiration, in everything. Simplicity. All the wisdom in the world is worthless if you are not capable of giving peace to the Spirit. We are capable of much, with the courage of one who sets out to fight for the World every day.

The next poem was Invictus, by William Henley, by Alberto Navarro. No matter how narrow the road, no matter how many punishments I carry on my back, I am the master of my fate, I am the captain of my soul.

Día del Arte. Poesía y Danza

And María Dolores Gómez closed the poetry chapter with Rima IV, by Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer. There may be no poets, but there will always be poetry. As long as humanity, always moving forward, does not know where it is going, as long as there is a mystery for man, there will be poetry!

Terpsichore

The narrator proceeded to read part of the text Terpsichore, the muse of dance, by the same author. Muse and dance live in Nature, describing figures and showing Laws. The muse walks through time radiating grace in each of her movements and it is then that we recognise her Message of Beauty. The Soul knows how to dance and the movement that the Soul produces by vibrating the Greeks called Terpsichore.

Día del Arte. Poesía y Danza

And then Gloria López made the souls of all vibrate with the Harmony and Beauty of her movements, transmitting the beautiful vibrations of her soul through her body to end the Day of Art, which was remembered with this recital of poetry and dance.
