Celebration of Arts Day (Dominican Republic)

Day of Arts

To commemorate the Day of the Arts established by the International Organisation New Acropolis on June 22 each year, the Dominican Republic developed throughout the month of June, a series of activities that revolve around this important day:

1. Painting and Floral Art Workshop

In a pleasant atmosphere, participants had the opportunity to explore their creativity with different techniques in painting floral art, discover their talent for painting and allow it to flourish.

2. Creative Writing Workshop

Aimed at young people, who learned methods for writing stories and tales. In one of the classes they were invited to create a narrative based on the instructor’s explanation of how she made a clay vase, which she painted at the same time.

3. Photo Exhibition: La Alegría

Inspired by the 4th Movement of Beethoven’s 9th Symphony ‘Ode to Joy’, an exhibition of photographs taken by its members was held, showing the expression of the joy of the Dominican people in the different tasks of their daily lives.
