New Acropolis in Florianópolis had the honour of collaborating with the instruction and training of 30 volunteers from the Somar Foundation, a solidarity network that connects citizens with social organisations for volunteering and social campaigns, and which has a partnership agreement signed with the Civil Defence of the capital of Santa Catarina.

The main objective of the meeting was to train the group of volunteers by sharing practical experiences of New Acropolis in emergency situations and also by presenting practical-theoretical content so that they can act for the benefit of the city in crisis situations.

The training was given by Professor Roberto Pértile, volunteer and teacher of our Organization for 24 years, currently National Secretary of Volunteering of New Acropolis Brazil – South Area. During the class, the teacher presented interactive content and promoted dialogue and exchange of experiences among the participants. Through an approach focused on practical philosophy, Roberto not only empowered the volunteers with the technical skills needed to act during emergency situations, but also contributed to strengthening a proper mindset to deal with crises.
