The Heraklion County, actively supporting volunteerism, associations, and citizen groups that selflessly offer valuable services to the city’s community, created a new institution, the 1st Heraklion County Volunteer Festival, held in the city center. Twenty-five volunteer groups from the city participated in the event, including New Acropolis. The three-day festival was filled with interesting presentations by volunteer groups and cultural events such as concerts and dance performances.
It was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the importance of volunteerism for society, for citizens to get to know the groups active in the city, and for the city’s volunteer groups to connect with each other.
