Long Night of Philosophy (Villach, Austria)
The participants gathered at the tea house in Villach for a special evening where tea and philosophy formed a harmonious union. With exquisite teas from China, Japan, and India, we delved into the worlds of Taoism, Zen Buddhism, and Hinduism. Particularly striking was the realization that ancient ideas remain timeless, and the concept of unity in diversity is more relevant than ever today.
The tea tasting was not only a delight but also an opportunity to pause and practice mindfulness. In a relaxed atmosphere, we reflected on how tea can enrich the moment and bridge cultures and ideas. An inspiring evening that demonstrated how philosophy can come alive in everyday life.
Reading Party: Buddha Meets the Stoics
At the main event of the Long Night of Philosophy, the participants explored the teachings of Buddha and the Stoics. One of the evening’s key insights was: there are countless books filled with knowledge and wisdom, but far too few people put them into practice — a powerful motivation to do so oneself and bring wisdom to life in everyday actions.
The philosophical speed dating provided a chance for deep conversations, allowing personal insights to be explored further. These engaging dialogues sparked curiosity and showed how inspiring the exchange of ideas can be—even if the time felt far too short. A successful blend of theory and practice, offering valuable impulses for a more mindful life.
