In both our centres of Dublin and Cork, a combined more than fifty people attended the World Philosophy Day events.

 The format was simple but dynamic, after a presentation on unity and diversity the audience split into groups to discuss the related challenges and how we can foster greater unity among people. A member of each group shared a summary of their discussions and many remarked on the overlap of key ideas.

 The conclusion showed that when we focus on what is universal we can find a point of convergence, a true union of ideas that demonstrates the power of unity – a unity that underlies a natural diversity of expression. Through philosophical education we can elevate to that inner unity, the highest in us, the heart of the idealist from which we see the best in ourselves and in others.
