To welcome the arrival of spring the New Acropolis in Slovenia commemorated the occasion by holding an exhibition and a lecture on Renaissance art. The main focus of the lecture was on paintings of the period by the masters Raffaello and Botticelli. The lecture took us on a journey of Renaissance philosophy through symbolism of their paintings. The highlights of the lecture and exhibitions included Botticelli’s Primavera, The Birth of Venus, Athene and the Centaur, and Venus and Mars as well as Raffaello’s Vision of a Knight, The Three Graces, Parnassus, Cardinal and Theological Virtues, and The School of Athens.
