IONA held its General Assembly in 2013
The International Organization New Acropolis (IONA) has held its Annual General Meeting in the city of Tel Aviv (Israel), attended by delegates from around fifty countries on four continents: Europe, Asia, America and Oceania.
Highlights from IONA’s Philosophy, Culture and Volunteering programmes were presented by the delegations, including figures such as the following: over the last year, more than 3,000 people attended its courses on Introduction to the Comparative Philosophy of East and West; at its centres around the world the IONA has 673 libraries with open reading programmes and, in terms of Volunteering programmes, more than 2,000 actions were carried out around the world, involving 40,000 volunteers and benefiting around half a million people.
The motions passed by the Assembly also included the forthcoming opening of IONA centres in several new countries in Europe, America and Asia, as well as new research and training programmes in fields such as Science and the Arts.
