On a recent evening, an ethereal sound came to life in the Szeged Centre of New Acropolis Hungary, and invited listeners to participate on a musical journey.

The unique, handmade instrument was animated by Sándor Szilágyi’s fingers. The bellsman produced sounds on a single musical scale, and yet with infinite variations of the seven notes and rhythms.

The concert was followed by an informal talk, during which the bellsman shared some of his secrets from his experience as a street musician. This was the third time when the chiming of the bells was heard in the Szeged Centre, and there are for sure plans to continue….
