Lecture on Shamanism (London, United Kingdom)
IIstvan Orban offered an interesting talk at the branch of New Acropolis London, exploring the book written by Mircea Eliade on the topic of Shamanism. He briefly shared his biography and encouraged the audience to have a look at the many works he wrote. He also explained myths of the origin of Shamans and the connection a shaman has between the upper, middle and lower worlds. By looking at some rites of passage, the Shaman plays a role of guidance and healing within a community. Questions and discussions took place regarding the Western approach and current interest of people in experiencing those practices. Participants enriched their understanding on this topic and exchanged points of view.
