Visit to the ‘Territorio de Zagüates’ dog shelter (Carthage, Costa Rica)

Ecological Volunteering

Volunteers from New Acropolis Carthage, organized a visit to the “Territorio de Zagüates” dog shelter in Alajuela. This shelter is home to more than 400 dogs, and brings in abandoned, lost, injured and senior dogs and offers them a grassy field where they can run and play, food every day, and much love!

Volunteers also made several stops in different parks within the metropolitan area to leave food for dogs in the area, and also delivered a significant food donation to the shelter.

The dogs basked in the volunteers’ affection and care, and volunteers returned home with a memorable experience. Sometimes love transcends species and allows us to help, and help ourselves, with a simple hug!
