Lecture on the Dignity of Man on World Philosophy Day (Zagreb, Croatia)
On the occasion of World Philosophy Day, New Acropolis gave a lecture entitled “The Dignity of Man.”
The objective of this activity was the 70th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which, in its article 1 states:
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.”
The lecture emphasized that our dignity depends primarily on ourselves, regardless of the circumstances of today’s world. Our dignity can arise only from what we strive for within ourselves, that is, fundamental values that form the basis of our lives.
