Talk and discussion: “Games of Thrones” at a downtown pub (Jerusalem, Israel)
Inspiring lecture by the director of New Acropolis in Jerusalem, Eli Mitrani, in a pub in the center of the city. An interesting analysis of the main problems that modern myths refer to, and of the main characters in the popular series. He spoke about how in many respects they represent the different roles of the hero in ancient mythology, mainly the characters representing the “powers of light and growth” in opposition to those who “inflict pain and bring darkness.”
This activity is part of a recent campaign – talks and discussions on topics and philosophical concerns that we can encounter in our daily lives, which take place in different pubs in Jerusalem, and as a new collaboration with an Israeli organization in charge of enriching the cultural night life of the city.
