Overview: Mario Rivero, a student who was a survivor of Guatemala’s civil war in the 1970s, talks about what he experienced in his hometown of Escuintla in the era of repression against many social sectors.
THE OWL is a theatrical monologue, produced and staged by the Guatemalan company Proscénico. The original text is by playwright Luis Escobedo Gowans, based on the book of the same name written by journalist Mario Rivero. The monologue is directed by María Isabel Yela and played by actor Gerson Lam, with the production of Jorge López.
