Volunteer at the Wexller House (krayot, Israel)
The Vexller House is a home for disabled adults who choose to live a more dignified independent life. Ongoing volunteer visits make it possible to deepen relationships with residents and appreciate the real person behind disabilities. Volunteers learned a lot about human powers like compassion and good humor. The objective of this visit was “to work with our hands”, to symbolically show the impact we have in the world, which means that things are “in our hands”. In addition to manual work, there were discussions, which allowed us to learn more about each other.
