You can be a Stoic, too – Lectures online (Budapest, Hungary)

Promotion of Philosophy

At the time of the new coronavirus pandemic, with dramatic changes to everyday life, preserving psychic stability is important to each and everyone. To help in this, New Acropolis Hungary launched a series of events on the stoic attitude to life, as stoic philosophers set a great example of how to live in difficult situations. The five interactive lectures, which were held online all began at 6:00 a.m. and thus served to enforce a spiritual foundation for the day. Guided by the thoughts of Epictetus, Seneca and Marcus Aurelius, questions of freedom, cooperation, fate and providence were discussed. Participants learned stoic exercises that are worth introducing into our lives, such as expressing gratitude, pondering about death, or keeping diary. The stoic responses to mundane situations are a great help in preserving the peace of mind and in navigating the unexpected difficulties of life.
