Painting workshop: Roman frescoes (Coímbra, Portugal)
New Acropolis held a workshop at the Monographic Museum of Conímbriga (Coímbra), led by Professor Françoise Terseur, where participants were able to experience the fresco technique through the use of natural pigments, as did the ancient Romans, who in this way created fabulous murals, such as those of the city of Pompeii, where the walls transformed into open windows overlooking wonderful gardens.
Likewise, we are fortunate to find traces of these beautiful paintings in Conímbriga.
In addition to learning this technique, other techniques were practiced, which also allow transforming the walls of any house into openings on gardens or landscapes of one’s own imagination.
