Production of over 8,000 masks for free distribution (Brasilia, Brasil)

Social Volunteering

In the first quarter of 2021, the headquarter of New Acropolis Lago Norte in Brasilia produced more than 8 thousand cloth masks for free distribution in the Federal Capital.

The production of the masks was carried out by seamstresses of the families supported by the Child for Good Program, a branch of the Social Assistance of New Acropolis Brazil – North Division.

The masks are being destined, at this stage, to elementary and high school children from two public schools in communities with bigger social frailty in the Federal District that the project serves, and aim to help protect against Covid-19 contamination.

The production was made possible with public call resources from the Government of the Federal District arose from parliamentary amendment. Each child gets three masks that are given to parents or the ones with parental responsability.

On Monday, April 5, for example, deliveries took place at one of the schools for more than 900 students aged 4 to 12 years.

The proposal is that the New Acropolis project should be extended until May to follow the school calendar of other schools in the region and can also serve the population that circulates in public health units and food distribution centers.
