New Acropolis Santa Cruz in honour of World Mother Earth Day initiated an ecological volunteer project called “Urban Forests”. In the first stage, an explanatory exhibition on the importance of planting and preserving native trees was held, followed by a guided tour to learn about some of the native plants of the city. In the following phases, seeds will be collected, sown, the growth of the seedlings will be monitored and finally they will be planted in different parts of the city. In addition to having an ecological purpose, this project seeks the development of values and virtues on the part of the volunteers, since they will have to accompany the process of Nature to achieve with perseverance and love the formation of urban forests.
