Ancient America in the Field Museum (Chicago, USA)
New Acropolis Chicago members and friends visited the Field Museum in our annual museum tour. This time we focused on Ancient America, exploring our wondrous continent. Among other things, we learned about Clovis points, the cultivation of corn from a scientific and mythological perspective, recent discoveries in Teotihuacan, the real significance of blood-letting rituals and human sacrifice in Maya culture, the Aztec calendar, and travel and communication in the Inca world. Then, just for fun, we visited the “Wild Color” exhibition.
