Ceramics workshop. Awakens reflection and learning (São Caetano do Sul, Brazil)
Modeling a piece in clay involves concentration, creativity, balance and can also awaken philosophical reflections.
With this objective, the New Acropolis branch in São Caetano do Sul/SP, held the Ceramics Workshop, led by Vera Luz.
According to her, clay provides a good interface with Philosophy, because it is malleable and “…it moves us internally, requires dedication, moments of silence, concentration, several qualities that help us understand ourselves a little more”.
The model chosen to create the pieces was the Ankh key or key of life, an Egyptian symbol formed by 3 parts: the circle represents the spiritual world; the horizontal line represents matter or manifested plane, and the vertical line refers to the path that each person must follow to reach divinity.
For Luciana, a member of New Acropolis for 4 years, the workshop “is not just a ceramics course, I could appreciate a great wisdom behind it”.
This Ceramics Workshop is part of a series of meetings that allows each participant to learn about the origin of this ancient art, create unique pieces with their own hands and reflect on symbols and concepts that guide the philosophical studies of New Acropolis.
