Friendsgiving Dinner 2023 (Chicago, USA)

Cultural Activities

Friends and volunteers of New Acropolis in Chicago gathered on a cold December evening, to have a warm and fraternal dinner in the philosophical spirit of Thanksgiving. The Friendsgiving dinner is an annual event that occurs in the school every year close to Thanksgiving. This year, participants discussed in groups what is gratitude for them, shared their reflections in a form of a Haiku and of course, enjoyed a delicious meal together.
One of the conclusions of the evening was that we can be grateful for all occurrences and events in life, “good” or “bad”, if we accept that they all happen for a reason and can teach us something, and most importantly, if we pay attention and look around us with a philosophical view and without taking things for granted…
What are you thankful for?
