A guided tour of the History of Holy Week in Jaén was organised recently, with explanations by the professional guide Eva de Dios Martínez.

Participants were introduced to some of the most important Holy Week Associations of the capital of Jaén through their images, carvings and fraternities. Details of the founding and most significant events of each association, the relevance and artistic authorship of their images and the history of Holy Week in Jaén were also explained to a large number of visitors.

The event, organised by the association Nueva Acrópolis, forms part of its cultural volunteering project ‘Mirando por Jaén’, which has been active since 2004 and has the aim of raising awareness of Jaén’s historical and artistic heritage through initiatives such as this one.
