New Acropolis promotes a soirée and Arts Show in return to school (Brazil)
Taking advantage of the recess period of regular classes in the end of the year, teachers and students from New Acropolis organized the Contest and Art Exhibition Divinos Ócios, inspired by Plato’s teaching on ‘free time’ as an opportunity for the development of the arts and philosophical reflection.
Students were encouraged to cultivate the reading of classics, in addition to the practice of various artistic expressions such as music, poetry, painting and drawing, among others, which were presented on the return of activities, in a soirée.
The night of presentations opened the Thursday Cultural program, a free activity open to the public at New Acropolis Fortaleza.
The lecture on the theme Divinos Ócios opened the evening, which also featured musical performances such as Reverie, by Robert Alexander Schumann, a German composer; and the Farewell Waltz, by Frédéric François Chopin, a Polish musician who lived in France, in addition to the recitation of poems and the exhibition of photographs from the contest that selected three winners in each category. At the end, the guests participated in the traditional happy hour at
Café Sofia.
