Celebration of the Feast of St. John (Alicante, Spain)
The Feast of St. John (Fiesta de San Juan), typical of the city of Alicante, was also celebrated at the Cultural and Voluntary Association New Acropolis based in Alicante.
We are resuming the celebration of a joyful tradition that consists of a festival of water and fire, after three long years of restrictions due to the COVID 19 pandemic.
With water and fire – symbols of purification – and the burning of the traditional rag doll “Susi”, good wishes and resolutions for the coming year were renewed. As has been the custom for several decades, the Feast of St. John, held on a beach in Alicante, was celebrated with music and typical regional dishes.
