Cleaning Up While Walking: Parque Forestal Do Vixiador (Vigo, Spain)
Environmentally committed volunteers from New Acropolis Vigo continued with their wonderful ecological activity, “Clean up while walking.” This time we were in the Parque Forestal do Vixiador, where we met for our monthly volunteering in spite of the rain.
We achieved our aim of collecting all kinds of rubbish, especially in areas where people gather, from trousers, pieces of tyres and cables, to the usual cans, glasses, cigarette butts, etc.
The 10km route through the middle of a lush forest was a great treat for us. We were all surprised by the beautiful scenery that day, enhanced by the perfect ingredients of fog and rain.
This time we had plenty of work to do, as we found more rubbish than usual – around 30kg. We will continue this eco-philosophical project of helping our mother earth, cleaning up and doing it while walking.
