Earth Week ( Bratislava, Slovakia)
New Acropolis Slovakia also celebrated World Earth Day this year and held several activities as part of the Earth Week event.
Right at the beginning it was a dance for Mother Earth, during which the participants danced a round dance together and had a great time. During the next evening, the volunteers met to make rugs for animals in shelters. Rugs were made by crocheting or hand weaving from used textile threads created from cotton T-shirts.
The FiloCafé session was this time, dedicated to ecology, natural laws and man’s relationship with the blue planet. The goal of the event was to find ways to behave more ecologically together. A small sample of the questions that guided the evening: “What can man give to nature?” We know what nature gives us. What can we give her to balance the relationship?
The final activity of the Week for the Earth was the cleaning of nature near the nature trail Natural Jewels of Šúr. Eleven volunteers joined forces and together relieved nature of seven bags of waste. We can simply do more together.
