History Club: window to history (Guatemala, Guatemala)
‘Window on History’, a series of talks whereby we address topics from a historical and philosophical perspective.
In the first talk we discussed how the Middle Ages developed and what were the characteristics and moments that marked it. It was a very participative talk, and something very important that we took away from it is that not everything was bad during this period. There were advances, and processes were initiated that would later lead to the Renaissance and eventually to the present day. We learned about where some surnames come from, their coats of arms and how they are formed.
The second talk was about Egypt and its symbols. We delved into this broad topic and learned about some symbols and their importance in Egyptian society.
