“I Love Reading” Project (Trujillo, Peru)
The “City of Eternal Spring”, as Trujillo is known, once again contributed to our project “I Love Reading”. In the Indoamerica Sector, “La Esperanza” 6 District, volunteers from our branch in the city helped 35 children to go through Module V of this flagship project.
The children surprised us by welcoming us with the beautiful song: “Amigo como estás!” (How are you, my friend?); it was a great moment of joy for the volunteers.
The reading in this new module was of “Princess Sofia”, which speaks of values and virtues such as heroism, intelligence and responsibility.
Afterwards, gathering together in groups, the children answered some questions related to the reading, accompanied by the volunteers who supported and guided them through the activity.
Then, the children filled out quick crosswords to find the characters of the story and finally they made a fun labyrinth.
Some children received prizes for their outstanding participation in the form of small gifts.
