Tribute to DELIA STEINBERG GUZMÁN (Madrid, Spain)
A day of tribute to Delia Steinberg Guzmán, who was for more than 30 years international director of New Acropolis and founder of the International Piano Competition that bears her name. Her death on 15 August last year left a huge void, but also a legacy of philosophical teachings of which she has always been a living example. She was a great lover of music and of all artistic expressions, which is why we pay tribute to her through performances on behalf of various branches of New Acropolis in Spain, as well as with a concert performed by four magnificent performers, all of them winners of her competition.
In the words of the director of New Acropolis in Spain, Isabel Pérez, opening the tribute: ‘Today we can celebrate this tribute one year after Delia’s departure. But Delia is still in our hearts and we need to express what have been more than 30 continuous years of shared experiences. She would like this aesthetic gift, a gift that is from one soul to another soul, something she taught us’.
