“A Whole World in a Single Form” – A Talk on the Wisdom of Japanese Calligraphy (Israel)

Cultural Activities

This month, we hosted “A Whole World in a Single Form”, a thought-provoking talk with calligraphy artist Tirza Paytan Sela. Together, we explored the hidden meanings of Japanese characters and what they can teach us about presence, intention, and the art of living.

How can an entire world be contained in a single shape?

What word would you choose to awaken the memory of a place, a moment, a feeling?

In a world overflowing with information and distraction, how can we reconnect with clarity, simplicity, and depth?

The evening included a live demonstration of traditional Japanese calligraphy—offering a rare glimpse into a different state of mind, guided by rhythm, movement, and silence. Along the way, we touched on the spirit of the Year of the Snake, and the subtle transformations unfolding in our lives today.
