Forum on Artificial Intelligence and Education at INTEC (Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic)
In the framework of World Philosophy Day 2024, the International Organization New Acropolis Dominican Republic, UNESCO and INTEC organized the forum ‘Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Education’, which brought together nearly 200 participants in person and online. National and international experts reflected on the importance of philosophy to face the challenges of abstract thinking in a world transformed by AI.
Panelists such as Gabriel Paredes, National Director of New Acropolis Dominican Republic; Juan Manuel Faramiñán, Director of Universitas Estudios Generales (Spain); Miriam Díaz, expert in education and transparency from the Dominican Republic; María Julia Ubiera, Director of Training and Professional Development of INAFOCAM; Moisés Sánchez, Executive Director of the Kamanau Foundation, Chile; and Frankelly Martínez, teacher at Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC), highlighted how artificial intelligence impacts education and how critical thinking and human values are essential to maintain intellectual autonomy in this new era.
This event joined hundreds of activities organised by the New Acropolis International Organisation around the world.
