Universitas General Studies offers a new online course:

Gerontogymnastics and the ageing process.

Discover how Gerontogymnastics can help to understand the ageing process. In this course, we will learn how to avoid the loss of mobility associated with the decrease in the motor capacity of the senior adult, through gerontogymnastics. This is a speciality that adapts physical activity to people over 65 years of age.

The aim of gerontogymnastics is to reduce physical limitations through various daily activities or specific exercises.

Who is the course aimed at?

Carers: To promote the personal and social well-being of seniors.
Sports instructors: To motivate and make the lives of the seniors they train healthier.
Health professionals: to contribute to humanising the lives of seniors in both hospital and residential settings.

What are you going to learn?

1. To introduce healthy habits to improve some of the physical deterioration or locomotor problems in old age.
2. To apply exercises to improve blood circulation in the elderly.
3. To avoid losses in the flexibility of the elderly with the application of the techniques taught.

Graduate in Sociology and Senior Technician in Physical and Sports Activities Animation. Director of the School of Sport with Heart in Spain, an international initiative that aims to transmit Olympic values in society.
