Getting to know our little friends who surround us! (Shkup, Albania)
On celebration of Earth Day, a heartwarming outdoor activity took place in Shkup organized from New Acropolis Skopje, bringing children closer to the wonders of nature. Divided into different groups, the young participants set out to explore their local surroundings, eagerly identifying different plants and learning about the greenery that thrives around them with handmade plant-identifying cardboards. The simple joy of matching leaves and flowers to their cardboard guides turned into a meaningful journey of discovery, curiosity, and environmental awareness.
The day was filled with laughter as the children also took part in fun games. Beyond the joy and learning, the activity quietly echoed a deeper philosophical truth: that we, as humans, are not separate from nature but part of its intricate web. By encouraging children to observe, name, and interact with the living world, the event sowed seeds of wonder and responsibility. In the spirit of Earth Day, it reminded us that reconnecting with nature is not only a joyful act, but also a reflection of wisdom—of living in harmony with the world that sustains us.
