Reforestation in Higüey (Dominican Republic)

Ecological Volunteering

In commemoration of Reforestation Month, more than fifty members and volunteers of New Acropolis Dominican Republic, planted 1,300 trees of the following species: Penda (200), Honduras Mahogany (400), Creole Mahogany (300), Pigeon Heart (300) and Saman (100), in the Municipality of Higüey, La Altagracia Province, with the usual support of technicians from the Ministry of Environment of the Dominican Republic.

When trees are planted, we plant the seeds of peace and hope, we contribute to mitigate climate change, protect biodiversity, improve air and water quality, and promote human well-being.

  • I love what’s going on in the Dominicsn Republic. Reforestation is a true effort to to keep our climate changes under control. I just wish that others countries can implement this measure.
