Each year, New Acropolis Timișoara organizes different events to celebrate The World Philosophy Day. This year we chose The Enlightenment Age as the main theme, for its effervescent spirit by which free thinking and the emancipation of the human individual were promoted.

Thursday, the 23rd of November, on World Philosophy Day, we held a public lecture about the philosophical landscape of the Enlightenment. We talked about the historical context and about the ideas of some of the most remarkable philosophers of the Age of Light, among which D Hume, J Locke, JJ Rousseau, Voltaire and we explored the individual, social, political, religious and economic transformations which began in this period.
