World volunteer day (Bratislava, Slovakia)
New Acropolis Slovakia again prepared a number of activities as part of the International Volunteer Day. In the branch in the capital, it was an opportunity to create rugs from recycled materials, while in the Košice branch it was another FiloCafé with philosophical dialogues over coffee or tea. What does volunteering bring to the world and to the volunteers themselves, how to be a good and effective volunteer or why to act voluntarily despite the disinterest of those around you – the topics sparked interesting and inspiring dialogues, from which the participants didn’t even want to go home… In Bratislava branch, after the completion of the rugs, the entire consignment traveled to some shelter. Rugs are highly anticipated because they warm the animals in the winter. We are glad that we can make their lives more pleasant in this way.
