World Philosophy Day

INTEC University and New Acropolis Dominican Republic commemorated World Philosophy Day with a hybrid conference—both virtual and in-person—entitled ‘Philosophy 360: How to find meaning in a world that never stops,’ held on Thursday, 20 November.

The event was supported by Dr Dalul Ordehi, Dean of Humanities, and attended by the representative of the Dominican Commission for UNESCO, who highlighted the importance of bringing philosophy closer to young people in order to strengthen critical thinking.

Speakers Gabriel Paredes and Miguel Ángel Padilla offered a dynamic presentation inspired by Eastern and Western philosophical traditions, focused on providing practical tools for finding meaning in a fast-paced world.

The event brought together students, teachers and members of the public, both online and in person, reaffirming the relevance of philosophy as a guide for reflection and everyday life.

New Acropolis Dominican Republic thanked INTEC for its openness and the Dean of Humanities for his support, reiterating its mission to promote philosophical, humanistic and cultural study in order to contribute to the integral development of the community.
