World Philosophy Day (Sibiu, Romania)
We marked The World Philosophy Day with a lecture held at the Faculty of Law in Sibiu. Under the theme “Unity in Diversity,” we spoke about two philosophical currents that formed the roots of great civilizations: Buddhism and Stoicism.
Both philosophies emerged during times of crisis and responded to people’s need to find solutions to life’s challenges: overcoming suffering, finding meaning in life, achieving serenity, and becoming a freer and stronger human being. Following the discussions, we saw that the solutions they propose are just as relevant today, as they relate to universal and timeless values. With these valuable teachings at hand, all that remains is to bring them to life — to live better, more beautifully, and more justly, not only for ourselves as individuals, but for the good of all.
