Visit to Sant’Angelo, the town of fairy tales (Ladispoli, Italy)
Visiting Sant’Angelo (Viterbo), also rightly called “The town of fairy tales” for its characteristic of having the external facades of the houses decorated with murals (painted by street artists) with a fairy tale theme, was an opportunity to research the symbolism contained in many stories that have nourished our imagination, accompanying us, since childhood.
Pinocchio, Sleeping Beauty, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White and many other fairy tales ask us to be careful of dangers, because behind a beautiful red apple or an old woman, there can be a deception and “all that glitters is not gold”.
But, in reality, they are fairy tales with a much, much deeper meaning!
They tell us about the constitution of Man (Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs), about Evolution and growth of consciousness (Pinocchio), about the awakening of the Soul (Sleeping Beauty), about the cyclical nature of Nature and the path of the Sun (Little Red Riding Hood), about illusory dimensions of space and time (Alice in Wonderland), about recognizing our true family, that is, our identity, so as not to give in believing that we are really an Ugly Duckling.
