Young philosophers inspired the audience at ‘Thinking without Borders’ (Austria)
On the 425th anniversary of Giordano Bruno’s death, the House of Philosophy in Klagenfurt was dedicated to the great Renaissance scholar Giordano Bruno. The question of what Giordano Bruno still has to say to young people today was met with great interest. The programme was complemented by a lecture that highlighted the significance of his philosophy for today. ‘Bruno’s ideas are as relevant as ever. A truly free mind also means free thinking,’ emphasised Hannes Weinelt in his lecture.
The subsequent torchlight procession along the Giordano Bruno path to the observatory was organised under the motto: ‘Let’s face the darkness not with fear, but with light!’.
Mayor Christian Scheider and the Italian consul Ms Paola Strozzi also had words of appreciation for this evening and for the great son of Italy.
