Under the auspices of New Acropolis Dominican Republic, the Spanish professor is leading a high-level programme focusing on space law, educational innovation and applied philosophical reflection.

During a visit of great academic and cultural significance, the renowned Spanish jurist Juan Manuel de Faramiñán undertook a packed programme of activities in the Dominican Republic, with the support of New Acropolis Dominican Republic, with the aim of strengthening legal education, ethical reflection and inter-institutional partnerships in the country.

The programme began with the opening of an exhibition at the OMG Institute to encourage the participation of a Dominican team in the Space Law Moot Court, which is due to take place shortly in Brasília, thereby promoting the international profile of local legal talent.

During his stay, Dr de Faramiñán held key meetings with the Vice-Chancellor and the Dean of the Faculty of Law at UNIBE, with a view to establishing future inter-institutional agreements focused on academic exchange and scientific cooperation.

He also met with Ansel Checker, Deputy Minister for Educational and Technological Resources at the Ministry of Education, to whom he presented educational proposals developed by OINADOM and UNIVERSITAS ESTUDIOS GENERALES (New Acropolis International Academic Initiative), focused on strengthening ethical and civic education.

One of the highlights was the conference ‘Artificial Intelligence and Education: Ethical and Philosophical Challenges’, which brought together more than 100 people in person and attracted over 300 participants joining online from across the country, providing a forum for in-depth reflection on the impact of new technologies on education.

At the National School of the Judiciary (ENJ), the professor took part in the discussion session ‘Human dignity in the face of the challenges of digital and technological innovation’, following a meeting with the President of the Supreme Court and the President of the ENJ, before an audience of over 40 participants.

As part of the 27th anniversary of New Acropolis Dominican Republic, he also led philosophical discussions with members and instructors of the organisation, as well as a discussion with the renowned Dominican broadcaster Reynaldo Infante. He also held a working meeting with lawyers from OINADOM, where he outlined the legal initiatives promoted by New Acropolis within the framework of the Maat International Centre for Legal Studies.
