Strong rain and sleet destroy several trees in Hungary
A severe emergency situation occurred in Budai hills, Hungary after days of heavy winds and rain. A number of trees fell due to the icy glaze that froze on the branches. Roads leading to the villages were obstructed and closed with trees lying across them for days. The authorities worked day and night to restore normal life conditions. Volunteers of New Acropolis participated in the action with an eight-person team including professionals, equipped with chainsaws, by removing the fallen tree-trunks from the roads and from the electricity lines.
