The three-month “Renaissance” project – 500 years after Leonardo da Vinci’s death (Vinnytsia, Ukraine)
“Renaissance” The cultural project organized by New Acropolis from October till December 2019 dedicated to the 500th anniversary of da Vinci’s death, and offered visitors a variety of events: renaissance quest, multimedia tour into world-famous paintings Botticelli “Spring” and Raphael Santi’s fresco “The School of Athens”, musical evenings and lectures.
Each event was an attempt to feel the spirit of this period, dive into historical context and understand the symbolic meaning and key ideas of the art masterpieces. Citizens enjoyed the lectures devoted to life and art of Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, El Greco, Dante and listened to the music of Josquin des Prez and Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina.
The project ended with a final lecture on the Platonic Academy in Florence. The Academy brought together the most outstanding personalities of the time and became the ideological source ofrenaissance culture and art.
