Tracing the Footsteps of Wonder Women (Mumbai, India)
The Culture Circle hosted a heritage walk titled ‘Wonder Women’ showcasing the trail blazing women of Mumbai in the 19th and early 20th centuries, who forged their own paths in the diverse fields of medicine, art, education, philosophy, politics, music, theatre, business and social service.
Among them were the likes of H.P. Blavatsky, founder of The Theosophical Society; Dr. Kashibai Navrang, the first woman to open her own clinic in Mumbai; Sumati Morarjee, Gandhian and head of India’s largest shipping business, and many others.
