III Congress of Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid (Santiago, Chile)
Third Volunteering in Humanitarian Aid Congress. “Ethics and Volunteering in Times of Crisis”.
In the framework of International Volunteering Day, celebrated in December 2023, New Acropolis Chile organized this third meeting with an abundant participation from various countries, giving the international status of the event. Volunteers from the International Organization New Acropolis, together with volunteers and representatives of public institutions and civil society, gave special importance to the activity with their significant attendance.
The meeting was attended by prominent professionals, national and international experts in the areas of interest of the event, who shared their experiences in two presentations on “Experiences in Organized Volunteering and Spontaneous Volunteering” and “Experience of Civil Society: Involving Citizens”. The design of the event allowed the speakers to develop interesting presentations on volunteering.
The Congress was inaugurated by the lecture given by the National Director of New Acropolis Chile, Prof. Francisco Duque, entitled, “The importance of ethics in the action of humanitarian volunteering”, and closed by our International Secretary of Institutional Relations, Prof. Eva Rodriguez, emphasizing the need to strengthen unity to face crises.
There were 456 participants from 23 countries representing 33 institutions that work in volunteering actions, 26 from Chile and 7 from abroad.
