Volunteers of New Acropolis Serbia celebrated Mother Earth Day with activities outside the urban surroundings and everyday rush, in a woody rural area in central Serbia. Through work and spending time together, the participants sought to realize this year’s motto: “Unity through Diversity”. On the first day, litter picking during a four-hour hike was rewarded with conquering old volcano Ostrvica’s peak and the wonderful view seen from it. On the second day, there was a lecture and workshop entitled “Be natural” given by Daliborka Kikovic, president of New Acropolis in Serbia.

For volunteers and visitors, this was an opportunity to consider the causes that have led to man’s estrangement from nature and, consequently, other people. The path back to naturalness is a conscious endeavor to overcome inner limitations separating us from the context of the whole.
