Kayaking as a philosophical adventure (Russia)

Sport Activities

Members of New Acropolis in St. Petersburg (Russia-North) made their fourth kayak trip, traveling along the Vuoksa River for almost 27 km.

We conceived this trip as a philosophical training. And we set aa goal – to learn how to overcome external and internal circumstances in the circle of co-thinkers and perceiving allthat is happening not as a problem but an adventure. For example, when it rains, and you are in open water and there is nowhere to hide, while waves are rising, and you are on a tiny kayak, and you don’t know where to stop for rest, and the sun is getting down… Is this all a problem or adventure for you?
A river trip is like our life in a miniature. We learned to appreciate the rhythm and realized that it is better to keep it steady than to resume it each time. We passed river rapids and ensured that it is easier to overcome hardships in a team, than to do it on your own. And nice places filled our hearts with Beauty.
We are already looking forward to next summer to go on the fifth trip and experience a new philosophical adventure!
