Japanese poetry: Haiku (Australia)
New Acropolis Sydney volunteers organised a night of “Japanese Poetry: Haiku”. Haiku is an ancient form of Japanese poetry, with a unique verse style. At its peak in the 17th century, Haiku was a major part of Japanese culture, inspiring artists of the time to create beautiful paintings of pastoral scenes.
Acropolis volunteers recited a selection of traditional Haiku poetry, accompanied by stunning images of classical Japanese paintings. A discussion then followed with attending guests.
